Ron Meadows is a British Formula One mechanic and team manager. He is currently the sporting director at the Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula One team. Biography In his early teens, Meadows trained as a mechanic and worked his way up the ranks, until he was running his own Formula 3000 squad. After numerous years as a team manager, Meadows moved to the US to work for Walker Racing in the Indy Car series. With his vast managerial experience behind him, Meadows was head hunted by the brand new BAR team to become their team manager, an offer he gladly accepted. Meadows remained with the Brackley team as they transitioned into Honda Racing, and then took on the role of sporting director in 2008. In 2009, he assisted Brawn GP to take both the Drivers and Constructers World Championships, and remained with the outfit when they were bought by Mercedes. Meadows current role consists of ensuring that the team is operating with the FIA sporting regulation, he is also the member of the Mercedes team that communicates with the Formula One Race Director Michael Masi. He works with the Chief Strategist James Vowles on pit strategy and is also the team member who calls out the pit crew and ensures the correct tyres are being prepared for the pit stop.
