Romulo Royo (born on 3 June 1976 in Zaragoza, Spain) is a Spanish contemporary artist, known for his works of great force in wich almost always mood is present,unknown and inner mood of the figures represented. He is known by his personal style separate from fashion trends. He manages a futurism and expressionism characterized by decontextualized scenarios. He study at the Zaragoza School of Arts Design and Illustration, History at the College of Arts and continued his education at the studio "Camaleón" and with the illustrator Luis Royo. At the same time in 1997 he founded "Group 3" its members Yago Mateo, Raul Navarro, Romulo Royo, the group characterized by their performances and their press questioning the circuit of contemporary art in Spain. At the same time from 1996 to 2000 works as an illustrator and his works are published in various publishing companies in Europe and Russia as "Eura", "Rad Moskbay", "Bastei" ... where they appear as covers of novels and comic books. Dissolved in 2000 "The Group 3, Romulo begins its journey alone. His work is exhibited in private galleries, foundations and museums. He has published books and catalogs of their work. Also in certain cases he carries out projects together with Luis Royo, as Malefic or the dome painted in Moscow from which came out a report of the process in the book entitled Dome. ARTWORK Romulo Royo is characterized as a versatile artist and use different media, researches and mixes traditional mass media like the computer and electric lighting in some of his paintings ... His work has a connection to the Underground, fetishism and sado science fiction. Known for his series Siamese, a reflection of society today, touching on central theme the suppression of the individual by the regimes of modern society. Apart from the paintings, is known from this series, the entitled Siamese installation, a hologram using laser video projection of a man faced with his own image, an aluminium sculpture. This work was published in book edited by Laberinto Gris, entitled "Siamese" and another entitled "Videncia, velamiento y ceguera" by Fernando Castro Flórez and published by the Foundation Alcort.
