Rolling River Day Camp is a co-ed summer day camp located along the shores of Mill River in East Rockaway, NY in Southwest Nassau County on Long Island. It was founded in 1993 on the campus of Camp Millett, which closed in 1990 after 30 years in camping. Rolling River also ran a private nursery school until 2008. Rolling River runs 4, 6, and 8 week programs during the summer for kids ages 3 to 15. Rolling River Day Camp is a member of the American Camp Association and is Nassau County Board of Health Licensed. Directors Rolling River is overseen by owners/directors Rhonda and Mark Goodman. Divisions Rolling River Day Camp is broken into 3 divisions (Skippers, Mariners, and Navigators) plus a Counselor-in-Training program. Activities - Swimming - Boating - Sports including baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, beach volleyball, mini golf, karate, dance, soccer, kin ball, hockey, roller skating, gaga, baggo, gymnastics, Ninetendo Wii, rock climbing - Creative arts include arts and crafts, ceramics, woodworking, nature, lanyard, puppetry, cooking, theater arts, storytelling The Campmates Program The Campmates Program was created in February 2010 in partnership with Peninsula Counseling Center of Valley Stream, NY. The program receives donations from local businesses to support the tuitions of kids who could not otherwise afford camp. Rolling River and the participating local businesses were honored at Peninsula Counseling Center's 2010 Fundraising Event, a Tasteful Evening, for the initial success of the program.
