Precita Valley Community Center is a non-profit community center, one of three divisions of Mission Neighborhood Centers Youth Services programming. Youth Services provides in-school, after school, summer and evening prevention and intervention programs for youth ages 6 to 25. The Center provides after school programs, summer camps family support services, evening recreational programs, GED and job training programs, skill building and support for neighborhood youth. History In 1959, Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc. was established when Mission Community Center, Precita Valley Community Center and Mission Family Center, at 24th and Harrison, consolidated their administration under a leadership housed at 362 Capp Street. This further expanded the scope and breadth of the organization, with multiple sites and properties to oversee. Currently, Mission Neighborhood Centers operates programs at 12 facilities, of which it owns four. This includes nine Child Development Centers and three Youth Services Centers. Programs * After School and Summer Programs offered for youth from 5 to 13 years old <ref name="fb"/> * GED Preparation classes offered for young adults from 17 to 25 years old <ref name="fb"/> * Home Detention Program including detention alternatives for youth in the Juvenile Justice System <ref name="fb"/> * Safe Haven Program from 2pm to 10pm in the center, offering recreational activities, a music studio, life skills workshops and a computer lab <ref name="fb"/> * Evening Case Management for youth from 12 to 25 years old, covering court advocacy, school and home visits, referrals and linkages to additional services as well as crisis response to clients and families in need of support when violent incidences occur in the community <ref name="fb"/>
