RockAAA (pronounced 'Rock-Triple-A') is a rock music] news service and community that was launched in November 2010 as an online news site. It is the sister news service to 96.3 Rock Radio and 106.1 Rock Radio stations and many staff from the radio stations will also contribute content to RockAAA. RockAAA is the first centralised content hub for rock music news, features and media. The content generated by its team is distributed online, by mobile phone and by radio. In addition Rock Radio's 'Rock Live Packs', a membership pack users can buy including merchandise and a music festival ticket, has been branded RockAAA> History RockAAA was conceived in summer 2010 by the then-editor of website and its Brand Development Manager Ciaran O'Toole as the chance to provide the rock music community with the most comprehensive news and features for their beloved genre. At 2010's Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth Rock Radio provided an in-depth news service featuring interviews conducted by on-air presenters as well as gossip stories and reviews. This yielded world exclusives such as Rob Swire letting slip that the band were planning a new recording of The War of the Worlds and Gary Numan declaring his friend Trent Reznor had deliberately sabotaged his band performance at the previous year's Sonisphere Festival as an act of revenge against headliner Metallica. The service was launched as an online news service offering a navigation bar of 'News, Features, Shorts and Win', showing the scope of what the site would offer. The site, though currently using a WordPress template for simplicity, offers full connectivity with a user's Facebook and Twitter and allows users to sign in to the site using their Facebook login. RockAAA's Facebook page shows the editor is Cameron Pirie with Bruce Henne on the 'news desk'. Articles published suggest Henne is based in North America and Pirie in the UK. In summer 2011 RockAAA provided coverage of the Download Festival and sent teams to 7 of the 11 Sonisphere Festival events across Europe to provide syndicated coverage for these organisations' websites and apps. The content was generated by a mix of RockAAA's own journalists and content produced by sister organisation Rock Radio. Highlights included coverage of return performance in Athens following the death of Paul Gray and gaining the only interview with Slash at Sonisphere Spain
