ROCK with RONY is a weekly television music series aired by Asianet Plus, the entertainment channel of Asianet on Sundays at 5 pm IST. Concept The favorite songs of yester years along with the current music trends performed to perfection with added information on the lives of those great artists, songs and the story behind them. Characters RONY : The show features Rony, one of the celebrated singers of Indian rock music famed for his live concerts in India and abroad. Winner of the greatest of awards of Rock music in India, he has enthralled the audience in various countries with his outstanding rendition of songs from the slow and hard rock music era Anchor : The show is hosted by an anchor, a familiar face in the television and fashion industry. Musicians : During the performance, Rony will be accompanied by a group of musicians comprising guitarists, drummer and keyboardist along with backing singers renowned in the music industry. Particulars Each episode features songs belonging to the 1960s to date performed by Rony in front of a live audience. The songs featured are hit singles from different genres of music namely rock n roll, blues, reggae, rock, jazz and so on featuring live performance with a detailed verbal description of the song by Rony with photos and additional information on each song. The series aims at educating the audience with regard to the history and success of each song. The live audience gets a chance to vote for their favourite song that shall be performed right away. The show also encourages viewers to ask for songs by email, sms, post and the most requested song shall be performed in the next episode which is called 'song of the day'.
