Robin Murphy

Robin Murphy (born, 1950, Grand Rapids, Michigan) is a naturopath and homeopath and is best known for his publication of reference texts in the field of homeopathy; most notably his Homeopathic Medical Repertory (in it's 3rd edition now titled Homeopathic Clinical Repertory).
Murphy earned an ND degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine and directed the homeopathy program there from 1980-1984. He later taught at Bastyr University and directed the Hahnemann Academy of North America.
Homeopathic Medical Repertory
Robin Murphy's Homeopathic Medical Repertory (A Modern Alphabetical Repertory) offered a new and updated approach to the organization and information in previous long standing Repertories like Kent's. Murphy's repertory aimed to be a more natural reference work than others. Where the Homeopathic Medical Repertory (now in it's 3rd edition retitled Homeopathic Clinical Repertory) differs is with updated and more modern language (for example the terms eructation updated to belching, avarice updated to greedy) , additional more clearly defined chapters and alphabetically ordered chapters and the rubrics within. The Murphy repertory also merges both clinical and classical approaches to form a concept of totality. Dr. Shashi Kant Tiwari writes in his book, The Essentials of Repertorization "Murphy’s concept of totality is based on clinical as well as classical homeopathic practice. It embraces the principles of Kent’s generals, Boenninghausen’s complete symtoms, Boger’s pathological generals and other stalwarts’ clinical principles of prescribing." Since it's first release Robin Murphy's Repertory and Materia Media has become standard texts in colleges worldwide and is included in all the major professional Homeopathic software products such as Radar, MacRepertory and CARA.
