About Roberto Barr Roberto Barr is often associated with Pop and Contemporary Art. The artist and his creations are not only recognised in his country but all over the world. He collaborated on a major project about the Rio Carnival with the popular singer Daniela Mercury. Throughout his career, Roberto Barr has been involved in helping young people in difficulty by teaching them papier-mâché techniques. This training offers young people a playful way to escape poverty. Around the turn of the millennium, Roberto Barr came to Europe and visited many places. He gave many exhibitions and forged important relationships that are still ongoing. In Paris, he met with Bernard Lacoste and held a private exhibition to celebrate the brand's anniversary, featuring only crocodile sculptures employing his signature image. In Monaco he exhibited at the Pastor Gismondi in Monte Carlo and at Garden Club of Monaco, under the patronage of Princess Caroline HRH the Princess of Hanover and HSH Prince Albert of Monaco. More recently the artist has paid frequent visits to New York City and Asia. Method & content of work As a child, the artist lived close to nature in the Brazilian hinterland. Animals are implicitly interwoven with the artist's childhood recollections. His work speaks of a world of Brazilian legends and beliefs. Fish, unicorns, turtles and exotic animals coexist peacefully in a sublimated artistic truce. Art Gallery Roberto Barr Roberto Barr is currently working and living in Brussels, Belgium. The artist has an atelier on the ground floor and a gallery on the first floor of a building between the Le Sablon and Les Marolles districts. His working method is interactive and characterised by his openness to being approached to communicate and share ideas.
