Igor Semenikhin

Igor Ilich Semenikhin is a Russian artist. He was born in 1955, in Tbilisi, in a family of simple workers. Father - Ilya Ivanovich Semenikhin, mother - Maria Pavlovna Popova. He graduated high school in 1972. From 1974 till 1976 he served in the Soviet Army.
In 1979 entered the Tbilisi Fine Art Academy where he was trained in the full academic traditions of easel paitnings and graduated in 1985.
Since 1989 Igor has been living and working in Moscow. After many years of working in the classical style he decided to change a technique to more expressive and free manner of painting. Igor uses a palette knife thus making his works more vivid and three-dimensional.
Works of the artist are in galleries and private collections of Russia, Europe, America, Japan and other countries of the world.
