Biography
Cabell was born in 1955 in Eugene, Oregon and has lived in New York from 1990 till 2012. Here he worked in the entertainment industry, along with Time Warner, HBO, Spelling International, Columbia Pictures and The New York Post. He wrote plays, musicals, novels and various newspaper articles that included the Shout Magazine. Currently Mr. Cabell lives in Seattle.
In addition to his work as a writer and playwright Robert W. Cabell is known as a videographer and producer of documentaries. Cabell 2007 developed the multimedia kits for the Lincoln Center production of "Fly", which was in 2008 and 2009 in over 250 theaters on tour. In 2011 Cabell filmed into a documentary on Africa suffering from AIDS children in Lesotho.
In 2008 Cabell sent a cease and desist letter to Adam Sandler, alleging that Sandler had based the movie You Don't Mess with the Zohan on his novel The Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde. Cabell has also filed a lawsuit against 20th Century Fox, which had trademarked and copyrighted the character of Zorro, in 2013 Cabell maintained that the character of Zorro was in the public domain and that 20th Century Fox "have built a licensing empire out of smoke and mirrors."
