Robert Martin (born September 4, 1995) is an American football running back who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Rutgers and was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2018. College career Martin attended Rutgers University, where he played for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team from 2014-2017. He tallied 2,274 rushing yards for Rutgers; he is tenth all-time in rushing yards for the team. Professional career New York Giants After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Giants signed him on May 14 following the team's mincamp. On September 5, 2018, Martin was waived to make room for linebacker Nate Stupar. He was signed to the team's practice squad a day later. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Giants on January 2, 2019. He was waived on May 9, 2019 following the signing of running back Rod Smith.
