Rob Gray (born 11 June 1955) is an Australian recipient of the Order of Australia Medal. Born Robin Shane Gray in Melbourne, he is currently living in Canberra, the Australian Capital Territory. Gray spent his early life in Adelaide (South Australia), Broken Hill (New South Wales), Sydney (New South Wales) and Healesville (Victoria) before joining the Royal Australian Navy in 1971 as an Artificer Apprentice. During his twenty years service he served in , (where he was an Officer Candidate classmate of Russ Crane, later Chief of the Royal Australian Navy), , , , , , and in Naval Support Command in Canberra. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal, Military Division, in the Queen's Birthday Honours List on 11 June 1990. His citation reads: 'For service to the RAN, particularly in the field of maintenance and development of combat anti-submarine weapon systems'. Since leaving the Navy Gray has worked in private industry and the arts. In 2003 he worked as a peace activist in the West Bank with the International Solidarity Movement.
