Risto Rekola

Risto Tapani Rekola (born 21 November 1957 in Seinäjoki) is a Finnish writer. His palindrome books, Ikävää, väki? ("Boring, folks?") and Naaraan ("I drag the waters" or "Female's" or in Savonian dialect "Go to laugh"), are popular at eKirjasto (library) in Finland, rated first in linguistics and second in poetry. His palindrome-based colouring book, Taasko hoksaat!, was published by Luova Satupata in 2014. Rekola is a speech therapist (at Terveystalo Lahti), too, and he has noticed that phonemic palindrome words and short sentences may help children to understand the connection between phones and letters and in learning to read without much teaching.
