Richard William Aguirre (born April 25, 1967) Received a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Despite never holding political office, Aguirre is interested in the 2010 Democrat nomination for Governor of California. Aguirre has yet to form an exploratory committee which is necessary to raise funds towards his candidacy nor has he collect the necessary signatures to appear on the 2010 ballot. Rival candidates include San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, former Governor of California Jerry Brown, and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez representing the of California.
