Rev. Henson T. Dent

Henson Thomas Dent known as Reverend Henson T. Dent was born in 1861, in Piscataway, Maryland. In 1886, he married Rosa Scott and the couple had 4 children: Alberta Marlow, Thomas, Raymond and Rosa Proctor. He is known for being on the Reverend's board of Marriages in Washington, DC he helped over 2Million people get married in D.C. Henson, was also a ordained minister under the name of Dr. Rev. H.T. Dent. Mr. Dent is also the first African American man to become a marriage Reverend.
Biography
In, the fall of 1867 a boy named Henson Thomas Dent was born in Piscataway, Maryland on Conoy Indian Indian land to a then 16 year old girl by the name of Lucy Dent a single mother and the granddaughter of David and Lucy Contee both Ex-slaves. In, 1886, Henson left Piscataway for Washington, D.C where in 1887 he married Rosa Scott of Brandywine and the couple had 4 children. He became a graduate of Howard University in 1891 and a minister in 1896 he helped more that 2 million people get married.
