Republican Settlement

A Republican Settlement uses the principles of the Republican Party to create housing, employment and a high quality of life for the disabled, elderly and others who do not have the ability to support themselves.
An example of a Republican Settlement can be found anywhere that a group of disabled, elderly or other disadvantaged people remove themselves from government dependence using the principles of less government and creative working solutions.
Typically with a Republican Settlement, government imposed zoning laws are removed from land to allow a "working group home" to exist. This change allows for a business and a residence to exist at the same location. The developmentally disabled help the physically disabled with tasks such as feeding, dressing and building maintenance and the physically disabled help the developmentally disabled with supervision, education and inspiration. Elderly residents who need assisted living can be helped by these teams of people while the elderly contribute with the resources, skills and experience that they have.
The group of people in the Republican Settlement, then operates a business while helping each other with basic living requirements. The Republican Settlement is similar to how a hospital may have a few nonprofits and many more businesses located at the same physical address.
A typical business, such as operating a gym, coffee shop or restaurant, may have the residents living on the top floor, training and administration on the second floor and the business on the bottom floor. Office space may be rented out to other businesses and nonprofits who choose to become part of the settlement.
The goal of the Republican Settlement is to remove people from a subsistence lifestyle that is dependent on government, and give them all the advantages, pride and support that they need to enjoy a high quality of life called "The American Dream".
