Tales from the Threshold (Relatos desde el Umbral) is a 2007 horror novel by Spanish author Roberto Julio Alamo. Plot The objective of this saga is to make a tribute to one of the greatest writers of horror and science fiction of the twentieth century, Howard Philips Lovecraft. To write this book, the author combine some literary genres to place their stories across the globe and mentioning many data "mythological" belonging to the Cthulhu pantheon. Roberto Julio Alamo tried to approximate the Lovecraftian myths to his country, setting many of his tales in Spain. In his work, the reader can see a tendency to write about events on various topics, to prevail, of course, the horror genre, as Lovecraft understood, above all. The author gives a gloomy atmosphere from the first word, and great emphasis on the idea that man is a trifle in the vast cosmos, comparing the human race with a speck of dust. |
