Reiki Federation Ireland (RFI) is a national federation of Reiki practitioners in Ireland. Initially conceived in 2002, the RFI was established at an AGM in Mullingar in late 2003. RFI is a member of the Federation of Irish Complementary Therapy Associations (FICTA) which represents the interests of all main complementary therapy associations in Ireland along with the RFI and Reiki. Reiki is available as a complementary therapy in the NHS in the United Kingdom and it has been expressed by a founder of Dual Diagnosis Ireland Carol Moore that for Reiki to become mainstreamed as part of the public health system in the Republic of Ireland that there would need to be national state-led regulation of the sector despite of the existence of internal codes of conduct in bodies like the RFI and FICTA.
