Rebecca Vogels is a German writer, entrepreneur, and feminist. She lives in Vienna, Austria, and San Francisco. In 2016, she was listed as one of 5 people to follow on Twitter by the German Tech Magazine Deutsche Startups. In 2017, she was named one of the Top 25 Female Entrepreneurs in Austria by the Austrian magazine Futurezone. Early years Vogels wrote her PhD thesis about different conceptions of time in the music of John Cage. Her book “Music is Work” was published by the publishing house of Johannes Fritsch. She was a visiting scholar at Columbia University and Harvard University, where she was one of the organizers of the annual German American Conference at Harvard. She has given talks and lectures at Harvard University, Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music, University of Vienna, and the Berlin University of the Arts. Career Vogels has been writing on a wide array of topics including tech, feminism, food, politics, urban living, music, art, language, and decisions. Her work has been published in The Huffington Post, Startupvalley News, and t3n. Her first novel “Schluss mit Sorry!” (“Stop Apologizing!”) published at Eulenspiegel Verlag Berlin about a modern women navigating love and life. She was the co-founder and host of the podcast “Radio Coffeehouse”, where she interviewed people such as Ruth Chang, Alix Lambert, and feminist Sally McConnell-Ginet on topics such as language, feminist theory, prisons, and decisions.
