Real United FC

Real United FC are a Non-League Football Club that play under the Nottinghamshire Football Association and are a team that consists of 6 different teams. The Club was formed in the year of 2008 and was primarily set up to reduce substance misuse and criminal activity amongst young people in Nottingham. It currently plays its home games at The Inspire Stadium of which is the Former home of the now defunct Gedling Town Football club who played in the Northern Counties East League and East Midlands Counties League.
The club works very closely with Local Nottinghamshire schools to offer support and use the mentoring scheme to stop young kids from offending and offering them support with their school work plus home life.<ref nameBBCAug12 /><ref nameNPAug12 /> This sees new people being introduced into the club all the time as the club try and show them the correct way instead of keeping them on the wrong track.

Key Club Aims
The Club has many different aims towards the club and some of them are
- To encourage individuals to emphasise their positive qualities rather than showing there negitive ones.
- To improve self-confidence and motivation in order to help move onto educational programmes that prepare them properly for a working life.
- To develop positive skills to manage conflict, anger and an understanding and acceptance of consequences.
- To develop the positive relationships with their peers and mentors.

- To develop strengths and talents whilst demonstrating how these skills are transferable.
Club History
In the clubs first season (2008/09) they played in the Notts Amateur Alliance and started in Division 3 of the league. In the clubs first season they won the league by a clear 10 Points over Gedling Town and after 22 games the team had lost just 1 game all season and this was against Nottingham Sikh Lions. The team won a total of 19 games throughout the season and played there part in some high scoring games and some well played thrillers in the league, This season saw some big Results like a 9-0 win against Pegasus and a 8-1 win against Nottinghamshire 'B', a 10-0 win against Notts Metropolis and the a high scoring 9-8 win against Netherfield Albion Reserves.
In the Second season (2009/10) they sidestepped Division 2 of the league and played in Division 1 of the Notts Amateur Alliance. This season was seeming to be a little more difficult for United however this proved not to be the case as the club again won the league in the 22 game season and ended with 17 wins 2 draws and 4 loses, however the was an adjustment to the league table in which saw Real Uniteds points tally adjusted with the club having 4 points decuded meaning they finished on 49 instead of 53.
After this season the club decided to establish a football team for the Under 13's with players being selected from the mentoring project at Djanogoly City Academy. This then attracted the attention of the Nottingham City Council, All Local Schools and Parents and the club has run a Saturday football club for the past 3 years.
The third season for the club saw them play in the Notts Amateur Alliance Premier Division and during this 22 game season the club finished 5th after winning 11 games and finishing on 35 points for the season. This proved to be the last season of the club playing in this league because the team moved up into the Central Midlands football league for the 2011/12 season.
In the fourth season the club started in the Central Midlands Football League. This saw the team playing along side such teams as Basford United, South Normanton, Clifton, Bilborough Pelican, Nottinghamshire Police and many more different teams. The season went okay with the club playing home games at Gresham Sports Pavilion and throughout the season the club did well finishing in 10th of which was very good considering it was there first season in the league.
This season sees the club in the same league but at a new venue and everyone is hoping this season goes well and hopes that the club can thrive in its new surroundings.
New Stadium
The Club moved into there new ground after months of work was put into it by the people from Community payback along with Mr Henry and all playing staff and management. The new ground is called The Inspire Stadium and is situated next to the Ferryboat Public House. The Ground can seat 500 people but can hold 2,000 altogether, the ground was opened by a charity game called taken to soon on Sunday 5 August 2012 in which saw the first ever female Sherif of Nottingham attend along with the club sponsor Mercedes-Benz and parents of some of the young kids that's lives were taken too soon due to gun and knife crime.
The game itself saw many people play for Real United all stars and this included first team Manager Mark Clifford and many others including the father of Liam Munn who was killed outside a nightclub in Nottingham. Playing for the lengends however was many ex pro's such as Jason Lee ex Nottingham Forest/Notts County/Watford/Northampton Town, Bryn Gunn ex Nottingham Forest/Peterborough United/Chesterfield, Chris Freestone Ex Middlesbrough/Northampton Town/Hartlepool, Michael Johnson Ex Notts County/Derby County/Jamaica.
