Raven c.s. McCracken

Raven c.s. McCracken (born June 6, 1962), is a writer and game designer who is best known for his The World of Synnibarr (Synnibarr) role-playing game, originally designed in the late 1970s, and published in book format in 1993. The game has had the dubious distinction of being on some Top 10 lists for "worst RPG game ever." It's been said "a few gamers even enjoy the game's silliness in an Ed Wood/Plan 9 From Outer Space way." However, the game has since developed a "cult following" and is considered one of the earliest "complete science fantasy/fiction RPG in one book where every possible situation is covered."
In 2011, McCracken released his first collection of 3 horror / sci fi / dark fantasy fiction short stories in a book called I Eat Butterflies (Tales of Vampires, Mages & Mutants).
Influences
McCracken has stated that his own writing and games creation has been influenced by The Thomas Covenant Series by Stephen R. Donaldson, Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin, The Dying Earth series by Jack Vance, J. R. R. Tolkien, Larry Niven, Chris Bunch, Frank Herbert and Dr Robert L. Forward.
