Kim Namjoon (born February 18, 1994), better known by his stage name, Rap Monster, is a South Korean rapper, singer, dancer, music composer, and songwriter. He is a member of the South Korea hip-hop boy band, Bangtan Boys (also known as Bulletproof Boy Scouts), formed by the Big Hit Entertainment. The group debuted on June 12, 2013, with their single No more Dream. Biography Rap Monster was born on September 12, 1994 in Ilsan. He started rapping since 2007 and has been able to teach himself English prior to studying in New Zealand for a period of time. Career Rap Monster was an underground rapper in the rap crew of Daenamhyup under the stage name of Runch Randa who collaborated with many rappers along with Block B's . Before being scouted to Big Hit Ent. Rap Monster joined Bangtan Boys in 2010 and is the only member who was in the original line-up of the Bangtan boys." He received his stage name from the company staff, where In 2011 he composed a song by himself and at the very end of the song, there was a part when he had to yell out ‘Rap Monster’. From then on that's when the company staff started calling him that and it eventually became his name. He is inspired by Kanye West, ASAP ROCKY, Eminem, Epik High, Nas, Dynamic Duo and Big Bang. Rap Monster is currently a member and the leader of Bangtan Boys along with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook. 2013 Rap Monster was the first to be introduced as a member of Bangtan Boys, along with Suga and J-Hope. Rap Monster, Suga and J-Hope, have composed and written the lyrics to all of the songs from their first mini-album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, as well as their second album, O,RUL8,2? (Oh, Are You Late Too?). Additionally, he starred in a variety show called 'Rookie King' with the rest of Bangtan Boys.
