Ransack-Raid the Rostrum

Ransack-Raid the Rostrum has been one of the most competitive Rock music events in the entire Northeast India. Ransack is a rock music competition for the amateur Rock bands, not only from North East but also from all the regions around the nation . Ransack-“Raid the rostrum” first began in the year 2011 as part of the national level techno-cultural-management fest of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dibrugarh University called AUXESIS. The competition has been a spectacular format for the bands as it provides attractive prize money and song recording contracts in high facility studios for the winning bands so that they can pursue their musical aspirations furthermore. This open-lingual battle of bands has seen an exponential rise in terms of both public reach as well as footfalls, making it one of the premier rock fest of Eastern India. Ransack is organised every year during September as a part of its parent fest Auxesis.
Overview
Ransack-Raid the Rostrum began in the year 2011 as a part of its parent fest AUXESIS and is a non-profit student-run festival by the students of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dibrugarh University. Ransack has already conducted four successful versions and it has already took pace for its fifth version. The event always bids adieu with a guest headlining band which thrills out the spectators.
In 2011, Undying Inc. performed at Ransack. The band is a thrash/Death Metal band from Delhi, India which formed in the year 2003.The crowd loved their performance and it started the trend of success for the event from its very first session. The first session of Ransack was held on 16th and 17 September 2011.Undying Inc. performed on 17 September.
In 2012, Slain performed at Ransack as the headlining band. This band is a progressive Rock band from Bangalore, India which was formed in the year 2006.The second session of Ransack was conducted on 30 September and 1 October 2012. Slain performed on the second day of the event.
In 2013, Gingerfeet was the headlining band which made a massive response among the crowd. This band is considered as India’s answer to Funk Alternative Rock from Kolkata, India. The third session of Ransack was held on 14th and 15 September 2013.
In 2014, Providence was the headlining guest band for Ransack V 4.0. Providence is a death metal band from Mumbai, India which was formed in the year 2010. The crowd attendance was massive and overwhelming. Ransack saw the largest enjoying crowd this year. The headlining band was under the production house called Metamorphik Productions. This version of Ransack started a new and amazing trend of introducing an Opening band.
The Opening band for Ransack this year was a Guwahati based thrash/metalcore band named Farrago. This recent session was conducted during 20th and 21 September 2014. Ransack was a grand success this year and it became one of the most famous Rock concert of Northeast India.
The next version of Ransack i.e., Ransack V 5.0 is yet to come and it has planned really bigger and better with some new formats.
