Randy Cozell Montgomery

Randy Cozell Montgomery (born June 20, 1973) Is a former collegiate athlete who attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the early 1990's. Upon leaving the Cornhuskers program after the 1993 season, he attempted to establish a career in professional football through various leagues (CFL, NFL, Arena Football, etc.). In 1996 at the age of 23, he was involved in ongoing talks with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL in hopes of being invited to compete on the 90 man roster during training camp as a free agent. However, talks with the Seahawks front office came to a halt as he never got the chance to join the team for training camp. In 1997 he joined the Wayne County Twisters semi-pro football team (in Michigan) as a reserve fullback, middle linebacker and a starter on special teams. After two seasons with the Twisters, he retired from football and began his second dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
Early years
Montgomery attended Redford and Henry Ford High Schools in Detroit, Michigan. Born the sixth child (out of a total of nine) to Herman Sr.(deceased), and Rachel Montgomery, he was a two-sport athlete in the Detroit Public School League, playing baseball and football.
Life after sports
After an unsuccessful career in pro football, Montgomery eventually went back to school and received his degree in Business Management, thus opening his own business, Montgomery Tax Service, LLC, which is currently located in Livonia, Michigan.
