Rand Fishkin (born July 10, 1979) is a marketing consultant and owns SEOmoz , a Seattle based search engine optimization and Internet marketing firm. The SEOmoz blog was named the top search blog in 2006 by Matt Cutts. . Fishkin is frequent speaker at industry conferences, including Search Engine Strategies, Search Marketing Expo by Danny Sullivan, and PubCon. He was profiled by Newsweek magazine. On, February 6th, 2007 he proposed to his girlfriend Geraldine DeRuiter via an advertisement that aired during Veronica Mars, her favorite TV show. He had gained anonymous notoriety before as "JP", owner of the website in which he planned to propose via a national advertisement during Super Bowl XLI. When this plan fell through, he decided on the backup plan to air the ad on a local station during Veronica Mars. |
