Ramon Solano is a fictional Venezuelan billionaire technocrat in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. At the start of the game, the player is tricked into aiding Solano in a political coup in which the leader of Venezuela is overthrown and top Venezuelan Army General Carmona becomes president. Carmona appoints Solano "civilian leader of a military government". Solano makes numerous press releases on Venezuelan television. He is found to be hiding from the player in a bunker in Venezuela's Angel Falls. The player attempts to destroy the bunker with a conventional non-nuclear bunker buster but fails. Towards the end of the game (depending on the choices made by the player) Solano fires a nuclear warhead at the Allied or Chinese bases. The player then responds by using a Nuclear Bunker Buster to penetrate Solano's bunker. The player and Solano fight in a helicopter and then crash, at which point Solano is killed. His death is never revealed to the people of Venezuela and throughout the rest of the time spent playing the game, Solano is still thought to be alive.
