Ram Narayan Mishra

Ram Narayan Mishra was a famous wealthy 'Jamindar' (landlord) in Jalalpur, Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. Known for his philanthropic activities, he was affectionately called as Raadhi Mishr by locals. He was a known scholar of Sanskrit and vedanta.
Ram Narayan was born at Jalalpur, Uttar Pradesh in landlord family. His ancestors were Saryuparin Brahmins and commanded great respect. His family owned much of towns land across river Tons River.
Mishra had one son and one daughter. His daughter is married to famous Hindi writer Adya Prasad Chaturvedi. His son worked as senior functionary in Indian Railways.
His Shiv temple and 'pokhra' (pond) are famous among locals. He is said to have mango farm with 1000 trees. Mishra built temples, ponds and donated money for people's good. Most of his land was taken by government and was encroached on by locals following his demise.
