Rakamakafo is one of the most popular YouTube channels in Russia, it has over 1.4 million subscribers. Guram Narmania and Nikolai Sobolev- are the founders of this channel. Guys weekly upload videos with various social experiments based on the reaction of people in unusual situations.
History
Creation
Rakamakafo have become very popular just in one year. Everything began when Guram sent Nikolai video of blogger Vitalyzdtv, where a young man was tricking the passers-by. The guys just fired up with the idea of creating the channel. That's how a project Rakamakafo with its famous Pranks appeared. For some time they were focusing on humor and jokes, and only then Guram and Nikolai were able to draw attention to social issues.
The growth of popularity
The secret of their success is not just in their will and quality of work. They became so popular because it was something new, many people see cruelty on television and in newspapers. They don't understand why is this happening, why no one comes to helps these people. Channel Rakamakafo answers all these questions. Guram and Nikolay are maiking video in which they do simulations of cruelty to other people. In their videos we can clearly see that many people just walk through and try not to pay attention. Fortunatelly this happens not always, some people try to help and even trying to start a fight in order to stop the 'villains'. But the main pupularity came to the channel when Guram and Nikolay created the video with the name "Man feels unwell". Just in five days this video got more than 4 million views-an unprecedented success for Russian channel without advertising investments. This video was made in order to find out how much people in Russia and USA would help to the person, who is lying on the street and writhing. The result was unexpected, only one person helped in Russia and almost everyone in USA.
Appearance on television
Nikolay and Guram were invited on TV for several times. People could see them and their pranks right on their TV-sets. The first one was NTV. Almost a year ago the story of these two guys was shown and told to everyone who has turned on their televisions. But that is only the beginning, in two months their videos "Robbery of a boy" and "Boundless policy" were shown and discussed on RenTV. These situations gave big push to their popularity. Of course it wasn't only good fame. After appearing on RenTV many people started to think about Nikolay and Guram as fraudsters thanks to television. If it is true or not we don't know for sure. But even though we shouldn't forget that Rakamakafo has helped to some people to understarnd that indifference can be guiltiness.
Influence on public
Many people think that Guram and Nikolay are creating such videors in order to show how cruel Russian people are. But in fact they do this to show with what problems we can face in Russia, what we should be aware of and ready for. And the main idea is to make people kinder, to change their point of view and understand that "You should never be indifferent". If you read comments to their videos you can see that some people are thanking Rakamakafo for their work. They tell how their world outlook has changed and some of them are telling us their own stories when they saw those who need help. Firstly people didn't want to risk their life or just to spend time on sufferers but then they remembered the words which were told by Nikolay and Guram. These words changed their mind and people started to do everything they could to help the victim.
