Rainbow Math Rainbow Math is a semi-popular webcartoon/newcoming graphic novel in production. The website has shared all of the links to the cartoons, either by Swfcabin.com, Youtube/Metacafe, or Newgrounds. The normal schedule for new cartoons are Wednesdays, but on occasions, like in June 2010, there is a hiatus without cartoons. The graphic novel series is the original branch of the entire series as a whole, and consists of two artists, DJG and CCE, while the website only features the art of DJG. No releases have been made for the graphic novel series, but it has been released by CCE that the graphic novel series should be finished publishing as early as late July. History The history of Rainbow Math dates back all the way to 2004 when DJG started drawing his first series, Kung Fu Dog. Five years later, he took the characters DJG and Clay from the Kung Fu Dog series and put them in a single series named "Rainbow Math" along with one new character, Crown Guy. A year later, Kung Fu Dog, as a series and character, was axed and "Rainbow Math" was the new title, along with the new co-writer, CCE. DJG started making Flash cartoons for the series. A few months later, a new character, Rush, was released and put into the series. Some complained, saying that Rush seemed to act homosexual, but it was all a confusion. DJG and CCE commented by saying Rush was an asexual character, and he has no sexual attraction to any character, boy or girl, unlike DJG and the others. The Addition of CCE In a Skype interview in March 2010, DJG released why CCE became a co-writer to the series. The following is in interviewing format. * DJG: ... When I met CCE, his humor bedazzled me in amazement. I was wondering how someone I met out of random could have had such the same funniness that I could have. * INTERVIEWER (I.V.): Yeah. So, how did you figure that he was the one you wanted to write your novels with? * DJG: Well, I knew he had the same humor as me... * I.V.: Yeah. * DJG: ... And he was a decent artist, so I said, "What the heck, just go with it". To be honest, I thought that it wouldn't work. But the idea and concept of having two comics on the same subject, but being different at the same time, was just an amazing idea, I had to use it. Spin-off DJG released that him and CCE will both do two comics together, then split off and do individual comics with the characters of Rainbow Math and new characters as well as new. Formatting With every comic made with both DJG and CCE, if you read on the right page through the whole thing, you read DJG's version of the comic. However, if you flip the book over and read just the right side, you get CCE's version. DJG says in his March 2010 Skype interview, "It's like our own version of manga, except it doesn't have some yellow-haired, jumpsuited guy running around yelling Japanese symbols." Hiatus * In June 2010, the website went under a cartoon hiatus. * One week, the website went under what DJG said, "a lazy state".
