Radio Free Penn State is a public affairs talk show that airs weeknights on The LION 90.7fm, the student radio station at the Pennsylvania State University. The show was founded by then-student Andy Nagypal in 1999 and focuses on topical issues relating to students at Penn State as well as concerns of the surrounding State College and Centre County communities. History Radio Free Penn State was founded to provide student and community listeners with an engaging, informative and relevant source for discussion of topical concerns affecting both the State College community and larger Commonwealth. The show discussion typically revolves around local news stories that are reported in and The Centre Daily Times. Radio Free Penn State has made headlines in local media outlets for its historically hard-hitting discussion of topical political, social and student-centered issues.
