Racism in Guam

Racism in Guam isn't as prevalent as in the mainland. Racism centers in the hostility towards certain ethnic groups in Guam.
Prominent incidents of racism
In 2012, the Assistant Attorney-General of Guam was accused of racism after he made allegedly racist remarks in a YouTube video towards the Filipino community in Guam. 30% of the Guam population is Filipino. The Philippine Counsel General condemned the comments.
Also in 2012, the Government of Guam was accused of racism over its disfranchisement of those in Guam who are not Chamorros during a political status referendum. Guam claimed it has special status and is allowed to discriminate.
