Raacca

Raacca (Ra Ac Ca: Guardian deity of intricacy and garnish) in Sumerian and Akkadian mythology was the guardian deity of intricacy and garnish. In older transliteration the name is rendered Raacco and in early commentary it was sometimes portrayed as a guardian of select individuals of similar title only.
Raacca often appears atop the head of whom it wishes to garnish and protect.
In some legends Raacca can possess its protected subject, causing odd behavior or, in some cases, even insanity.

Character
Raacca is the guardian of individuals whom it chooses by similarity of title: Raacca protects and shelters those who are of her descent or whom she feels have subhuman values of practice. Garnished in radiance, it is her game to inflict glamor and culture to her chosen. (Taken from a hymn found on an ancient tablet buried amongst the ruins of a small palace located outside of Sumer in 1979.)
