RåFILM film collective

RåFILM is a Swedish film collective based in Malmö and Stockholm, founded with the aim of producing socially engaged media with a focus on norm-critical perspectives, human rights, and activism. The collective creates documentaries, animations, and fiction films that often highlight underrepresented voices and social justice issues.

* Detained (Förvaret) (2015): Directed by Anna Persson and Shaon Chakraborty, this award- winning documentary explores the lives of asylum seekers in a Swedish immigration detention center.
* 3 Stolen Cameras (2017): A collaboration with Equipe Media, this film portrays Sahrawi video activists who risk their lives documenting Moroccan repression in Western Sahara. The film has been censored in Morocco.
* Outgrow the System (2023): A documentary that discusses ecological and economic alternatives to capitalism, emphasizing grassroots resistance to environmental degradation.
* Victory Train (Segertåget) (2025): Directed by Alex Veitch and Talat Bhat, this film documents a labor movement of train staff in Skåne, Sweden, advocating for fair working conditions amid privatization.
* Dream House Dreams (2018): Directed by Alex Veitch, the film follows two women navigating the post-apartheid housing system in South Africa.
* HAIYU (2024): Co-produced with Saharawi Voice, this film documents the life and activism of Mariem Hassan, a famous Sahrawi singer.
* Bring Him Back (2016) - A short documentary by Talat Bhat and Fahad Shah about Shahmli Begum’s decades-long campaign to repatriate the remains of her son, Maqbool Bhat.

RåFILM functions as a non-hierarchical collective, where members collaborate on film production and activism.
