Quran and Thinking

Muslims believe that the Quran is the literal word of God as revealed to the prophet Muhammad through the Archangel Gabriel. Fifteen centrey ago, God sent the Quran to the arabs whose society was corrupt and charactered by gambling, excessive drinking of alcohol and burial of female babies, men ashamed that they do not have sons. Moreover, polytheism was the rule although they knew that the profet Abraham and his son Ismael were there at that spot and have built the Kaaba in Mecca as a prayerhouse and the prophet Abraham learened them the oneness of God. He left them and went back to his wife Sarah in Palästine. Every tribe, at the time of Mohammed, had set a statue of its god in the Kaaba. Through the Quran, God recommended the people to "think" about the creations and the creation of the universe in order to recognize the one God and his Power.
"Those who remember God, standing, sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation of the heavens and earth (saying): Our Lord, You have not created this for nothing. glory be to You! So safeguard us from punishment of the fire." (Quran,3:191)
The verses of Quran encourage people tho think and to use their minds all the time of their lives.
" Have they not looked at the camel - how it was created? and at the sky - how it was raised up? and at the mountaines - how they were embedded and at the earth - how it is spread out? So remind them! You are only a reminder:" (Quran, 88:17-21)
In many other verses of the quran, people are instructed to examine the nature, then they can know God only by examining his creation and the universe. As a result of this,
moslems are interested in science and thinking knowing that "thinking" and performance of science are a form of prayer.
"He, Who created the seven heavens in layers, You will not find any flaw in the creation of the All-Merciful. Look again, do you see any disorder?" (Quran, 67:3)
In another verse, the Quran encourages "thinking" and investigating many forms of the creation : astronmy , geology , botanic and livestock and others.
"Do they not look at the sky above them? How We have made it and adorned it and there are no flaws in it? And the earth - We have spread it out and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in paires) - to be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to God):" (Quran, 50:6-8)
