Quincy Mississippi Shark

Bold text May 13th 2013. While fishing down at the lock and dam in Quincy, Illinois A record size and rare fresh water shark was captured and seized by the U.S. Coast Guard , Stationed out of Keokuk Iowa, In conjunction with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. The fish which measured 6' 9 Long and captured by Miles Granger of Hannibal Missouri. The IDNR Stated "This was a vital find as this explains the lack of fish in the river in the last few years." They stated a huge notice in decline of species and fish in the area but was unsure of the exact cause. This is a developing story and more will be added to this page as more information is available. More pictures to come as well. |
