Queen Mary University Rugby Football Club

Queen Mary University of London Rugby Football Club (informally Queen Mary RFC, or QMRFC is a university Rugby Union Club representing Queen Mary University of London. The club consists of two men's teams; the 1XV and 2XV, as well as a Women's 1st XV in conjunction with . All teams compete in BUCS. All teams compete in either the South Eastern Conference Cup or Plate in addition to their league commitments. Queen Mary also fields 7s teams for both men and women which compete in several tournaments during the summer season.
1st XV

Since 2010 Queen Mary 1st XV has developed into one of the top university teams in London. In 2011 Queen Mary 1st XV secured first place promotion after winning 13 out of 14 matches in the BUCS South Eastern 3B League. In 2011-2012 Queen Mary 1st XV competed in BUCS South East League 2B and after their maiden season they showed that they are a rapidly improving team winning 6 out of 13 fixtures. In addition to this they reached the BUCS SE Conference Cup Final, losing to Canterbury Christ Church 1st XV 37-28. The club regularly updates Pitchero with photos, fixtures and match reports. 2nd XV
The 2nd XV compete in the BUCS SE League 6B as well as the BUCS SE Conference Plate. Since 2010 Queen Mary 2nd XV have grown into a strong feeder team for the 1st XV. Numbers bolstered by the large intake of first years as well as increased commitment among 2nd and 3rd years led to the team finishing 6th out of 12 team in their league. They currently lie 2nd in their league, 1 point behind leaders University of Hertfordshire 2nd XV and are in the quarter final of the cup.
Women's
QMBL Ladies currently compete in BUCS South Eastern 2B and the SE Conference Cup More information such as committee structure and team selection can be found on Pitchero or the Facebook group.

Playing and training facilities
The Club's home ground is located at the Queen Mary University of London Sports Grounds on Perry Street, Chislehurst which is occasionally used by neighbouring National League side Old Elthamians. In March 2012, the club staged its first evening match at Eton Manor Rugby Club in Wanstead, resulting in a win for the 1st XV against University of Hertfordshire 1st XV. It is hoped there will more evening matches staged at Eton Manor given the success and increased support at this fixture. The Chislehurst ground is used for a training weekend early in September when new students join the University. Most of the time, the club trains at East London Rugby Club in West Ham. Away from the pitch, all players have further training at the University from a Strength and Conditioning coach made available to them.
Merger Cup
QMRFC are the reigning champions of the annual Merger Cup between the teams from Queen Mary, University of London and Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, with both sides defeating their counterparts in the competition in 2015.
