Puriece

Puriece - Fragmentum Agricaniense
Puriece is the only extant sample of Nordic Agricane epic poetry. The version we have is a 12th-century Lombardo-Siculo translation written by Sciaccan monk Alexander Caserinus, uncovered fortuitously by Prof. Ugo Bleiro of the University of Messina, at the Convent of San Francesco and the Sanctuary of San Benedetto il Moro at San Fratello, in Sicily :it:File:SanfratelloKonvent.jpg. Prof. Bleiro, a national expert on the Lombard period of Sicilian history, was being helped in his endeavours by Sister Adalberta Zamuto.
Unfortunately, the sample is incomplete, the rest having been lost during the heavy WWII bombardments when the Allies were liberating Sicily. This has been attested to by the predecessor of Sister Adalberta Zamuto, Elena Camiglieri, who declared in her secret will, deposited with Sciaccan Notary Isidoro Ancilleri, that the parchment on which the poem was written was much longer. It has been opined by Prof. Ugo Bleiro that the loss to humanity is without equal, given that this is the only sample of Nordic Agricane poetry which academia is aware of.
It has been proposed at a Seminar held at the Ettore Majorana Centre in Erice, Sicily that Independentist activist Salvatore Giuliano had been made aware of the existence of this poem and had been thinking of using it as a national symbol for Sicilian Independence. Unfortunately, when Giuliano was caught by the Italian armed forces, his interrogators failed to ask him anything about the poem, and whatever he might have known has accompanied him to the grave. Prof. Ugo Bleiro claims to have found the descendants of one of Giuliano's closest collaborators in the Lombard city of Lodi, and that he should be acquiring important information in this regard in the nearest future.
Puriece, subtitled Tre Un in Canti-Poema, is the only known sample of a Canti-Poema, and as such is highly valuable.
The Canti-Poema opens with the following lines:

Scese dalla greve, piana amarcana
e rinnavo' di grace.
"Puresca," rieti illa.

Inguantanamo rinnavit
Tangano in risantia prubit
"Vicit", direbantia.

E no no, musa finibit
Secunda seriae in trisantia initiabit
Ecceptibium lignietis sortae.
Prof. Bleiro is writing a critical dissertation on this Fragment, which will be shortly published in the UK.
Prof. Bleiro has been conferred the Honoris Causa degree by the Udayana University of Bali and by the University of Luxembourg. He is Visiting Professor at the University of Shkodra.
