Introduction Projectwhistleblower.org is a misattributed "copy" of the whistleblower protection service WikiLeaks.org. WikiLeaks accuses it of being a "scam" possibly started by members of the military. Its registrations have been traced to an account involved in a number of on-line fraud complaints. The mission statements and nearly all other material found on PWB have been copied word for word from WikiLeaks without attribution. In some cases even substitutions of "Wikileaks" to "Project Whistleblower" had been forgotten. Criticism Projectwhistleblower has admitted to military connections and has refused to answer other allegations put to it by journalists.. No individuals have vouched for it publicly and its domain name registrant is associated with fraud sites. It appears to be based in Malaysia, a jurisdiction with poor journalist-source protections. It does not support encryption. For these reasons and others it has been called a 'scam'. The sites owner, "Kingston Smith and Associates" has been mentioned in on-line fraud reporting in relation to other sites. Over 150 other domains are registered under the alias "kingstonsmith@hushmail.com" Additional Information iTWire Wikileaks calls projectwhistleblower site 'scam' ProjectWhistleBlower responds to WikiLeaks' allegations Domain information for projectwhistleblower.org
