Project Wilderness is an Oregon based environmental nonprofit founded in 2009. It's mission is "to improve our nation's public forests, return declining wildlife to healthy populations, offer free educational programs and purchase private lands opening them to the public." About Cleanup Efforts To date Project Wilderness's first year in existence they have performed cleanups at; * * *Mount Hood National Forest According to Project Wilderness bylaws, "Each month a minimum of one cleanup will take place" Habitat Restoration To date Project Wilderness has not performed any habitat restoration, according to the President, they are planning restoration projects for spring of 2010. This includes invasive plant species removal and replanting of native forage. Education According to public documents, "When appropriate funding has been achieved Project Wilderness intends to educate the future generations of stewards. This will be achieved by offering schools systems and education organizations the opportunity to receive educational training and materials on proper wildlife and forest stewardship." Land Purchase According to public documents, Project Wilderness "bylaws require that a minimum of twenty cents of every dollar received be applied towards land purchases which provide benefit to wildlife and allow public access."
