thumb Productioneering is a method of capitalizing on the talents and collaborative relationships between production workers and engineers in Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Originating from the words “Production” and “Engineering”, Productioneering is Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard's method of capitalizing on the talents and collaborative relationships of our diverse workforce. Productioneering results from incorporating the disciplines of a Learning Organization (Systems Thinking, Shared Vision, Team Learning, Mental Models, and Personal Mastery) into our work ethic. Productioneering requires the entire workforce to step outside of the traditional mindset that as workers, proficiency at your immediate job responsibilities is the only thing needed to achieve a “win on every job.” Productioneering is working together as a team, practicing the discipline of "Team Learning" to think collaboratively together to resolve issues on the deck plate and within our engineering paperwork to complete the job with first time quality, on time, within cost and setting the standard of corporate excellence on each and every job that we accomplish. Productioneering emphasizes to all Production and Engineering workers that our responsibility as individuals to ensure the success of the Shipyard as a whole; Keeping our ships "Fit to Fight". In order for the concept to produce success, both Production and Engineering workers must embrace a Shared Vision and work towards it with a systematic approach. In this model, it is the Production workers' responsibility to take ownership of each assigned job and Engineering’s responsibility to support Production, making each job as workable as possible. This initiative requires the commitment and shared responsibility of both parties (Production and Engineering) to request for help and to assist one another when necessary to make every job a success. Productioneering Works at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility.
