Pritchattsbury

Pritchattsbury, also known as the Pritchattsbury Festival, is a music festival that takes place at Pritchatts Park, within the Edgbaston campus of The University of Birmingham. Unlike the younger Vale Festival Pritchattsbury is organised by the Pritchatts Park Residence Association, a group of students who look after the interests of the local residents.
The 2010 event is to take place on 12th June, with headliners The Automatic and The Quails. The festival will be showing the England v USA World Cup match and will have a host of other attractions, including inflatables and food stalls. The festival has a large Facebook presence and is again raising money for charity
The festival has hosted several bands and artists that have gone on to enjoy great success, including Example, Plan B and The Holloways.
2007
2007 featured performances byThe Sunshine Underground, Towers of London, and Example.
2008
2008 featured performances from The Holloways, The Mitchell Brothers and Envy & Other Sins
2009
2009 featured performances from The Zutons, Just Jack and Lethal Bizzle but suffered from poor weather on the day.
2010
The festival is set to return in 2010, with headliners The Automatic and The Quails. Other performances will include Kids Can't Fly, Fight the Bear, The Alice Band, The Jet Boys, All About Eden, Sick City Club and Hitchcock. The festival will also show the England v USA Fifa World Cup match as well as having a bouncy castle and other inflatables. The charity theme of the festival this year is Protecting Children, with proceeds being split between Comrades of Children Overseas, the NSPCC and Kids Adventure.
Organisation
The festival is organised by the Pritchatts Park Residence Association. It was founded in 2004 by then President Mark McCormack, the lead singer of Smart Soutane. Over the years the free festival has got larger, initially provided for Pritchatts Park residents, it now attracts students from the whole of the University of Birmingham as well as other universities.
