Press for Peace

Press for Peace (PFP) is a Kashmir-based NGO and think tank founded in 1999 by Khawaja Zafar Iqbal, a journalist and peace activist. PFP's stated mission is the promotion of peace, tolerance, interfaith harmony and protection of human rights, including freedom of the press in South Asia.
Network
Press for Peace has expanded its network from Azad Kashmir to Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir, United Arab Emirates, England, Austria and Canada. It has partnerships with NGOs and other civil society entities within the country and abroad. In addition to various interventions after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, Press for Peace has conducted a number of activities regarding the improvement of the natural environment and the natural resources of Azad Kashmir.
In 2003, a daughter organization was founded under the umbrella of PFP with the aim of protecting valuable plantations in the forests of Azad Kashmir. The organization conducted nature walks and visits to vulnerable forests, organized an article-writing competition on environmental journalism, and created an Environmental Journalist Forum.
