Pregnancy can cause feelings of happiness to feelings of dread for people. It all depends on the woman’s desire to get pregnant, her partner’s feelings, and several other circumstances. Women can conceive a child as soon as they get their period. Some pregnancies’ are planned and some are not. There are many ways a woman can determine if she is pregnant. Physical Signs Some women have a light blood flow or irregular bleeding after conception, but usually the first indication of pregnancy is a woman misses a menstrual period at the expected time of the month. It is then they believe that pregnancy is a possibility. There are other symptoms a woman can experience to indicate she is pregnant. Breast tenderness, food cravings, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, heart burn, and increased urination are some indicators. All of these things can be observed in the first weeks or months after conception. Pregnancy Tests Home pregnancy tests are based on detection of a hormone hCG, (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). This hormone is found in a woman's urine shortly after a fertilized egg has been implanted in the woman's uterus. Different pregnancy tests can detect if a woman is pregnant as early as 6-8 days after conception, depending on the type of pregnancy detection being used. There are many different types of pregnancy detection options but the most common are Blood and Urine tests. Blood tests are more accurate than urine tests.
