History
PowerPad 1.0.1, the first public release, came out on February 22, 2009. Exactly one month later, the next release, PowerPad 1.0.2 came out. One of the major changes introduced with this release included line number support. PowerPad 1.0.3 introduced printing support, although options to customize margins and font style were absent. PowerPad 1.0.4.0 was released on May 31, 2009 and featured Unicode and text-to-speech support.
Issues
The latest release, version 1.0.3, had reported problems running on Windows 2000. It was recommended that users of this operating system continue using version 1.0.2, which is available from http://www.quickmediasolutions.com/software/powerpad/PowerPad_1_0_2_0.exe
This issue was quickly corrected and Windows 2000 users are encouraged to use version 1.0.3. Also, the 1.0.3.2 beta version had some repainting issues when line numbers were enabled. Version 1.0.4 (current as of May 31, 2009), supports text-to-speech only if version 5.1 or newer of Microsoft's Speech Runtime is installed.
