Potomac Valley Swimming

Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) is the Local Swimming Committee (LSC) (governing body) for competitive swimming in the National Capital Area, also known as the Washington Metropolitan Area. They are a member of USA Swimming and the Eastern Zone. Most of the athletes who compete in PVS-sponsored swim meets are youths under the age of 18. However, there are also opportunities for older members of the swimming community to compete.
Governing areas
PVS is one of the 59 LSCs of USA Swimming. The area that PVS covers is the District of Columbia, Montgomery and counties (both in Maryland), and Fairfax and Arlington counties, as well as the cities of Alexandria, City of Fairfax and Falls Church (Virginia).
Swimmers
Over 10,000 swimmers are registered PVS competitors. This is one of the largest local swim committees of USA Swimming. These swimmers compete across approximately 40 different swim clubs in even more facilities. The level of competition across the clubs varies greatly, from recreational swimming to Olympic record holders. Some of the notable athletes who have come from PVS include previous world record holders Tom Dolan and Ed Moses, among others.
