Portland Urban Coyote Project

The Portland Urban Coyote Project (PUCP) is a citizen science project that gathers and analyzes coyote sightings in the Portland metropolitan area. Residents report their coyote sightings through an online report form. The project received over 2,000 sightings in 2016 and over 7,000 sightings since its inception. The sightings are displayed on an interactive web map on the project website. The website includes an informational tutorial. The project is a partnership between the Audubon Society of Portland and the Geography Department at Portland State University.
History
The Portland Urban Coyote Project was started in 2010 by Portland State University Professor Barbara Brower and graduate student Jenny Grant. In 2013, Zuriel van Belle (née Rasmussen) joined the project and became project director.
