Population reduction conspiracy theory

The Population reduction theory is a conspiracy theory which states that there is a plan to depopulate the world so that the remaining population is easier for tyrannical governments to control.
Overpopulation
Many officials say that they believe the world is overpopulated. Bill Gates, Ted Turner, and Prince Charles are among those concerned with overpopulation.
Numbers given of an "ideal" world population include 500 million (nearly a 93% reduction from current population) and 2 billion (a 70% reduction in current population), while other estimates have put the carrying capacity as high as 40 billion assuming absolute minimum consumption levels. In 2009 a policy think tank in England, Population Matters, (formerly known as the Optimum Population Trust), released a detailed spreadsheet which established preferred population limits in a number of nations across the globe. Only one in four of the current Algerian population is ideal and about half of the British population. The group also sponsored a poll to measure public support for their efforts to curb reproduction.
Aspects of the Theory
De-population theorists believe the elite have experimented over the years, giving examples like the HIV virus and even the 2009 swine flu outbreak, which are believed to be elite-engineered methods of reducing the human population. None of this is verifiable, but programs like this would probably have to be undertaken in an effort to expedite the end-game of literally making everyone eventually sterile.
It has also been theorized that global warming is a hoax, or is being deliberately created, to gain public support for depopulation.
The Georgia Guidestones states as the first of ten guidelines or principles (engraved in eight different languages) "Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature."
The agent for this depopulation varies from being various unconnected different groups (such as the Club of Rome or Bilderberg Group) who would like to see the world be depopulated, or the United Nations, as a part of a New World Order (NWO).
Theorized motives include fewer people to control and contest the elite class, environmentalist extremism, transhumanism, and fewer people being able to get a larger share of the world's resources for themselves (with possible rationing by the elite).
Methods of this depopulation have been guessed from a one-child policy to outright Holocaust-like genocide, to intentionally released viruses and provocation of war. Planned Parenthood and the psychiatric industry have been accused of being just more tools in de-population programs. Other methods may include manipulated vaccinations, prodrugs, or a toxic food supply. Poor food and drug regulations in the present day are seen as an indication of what is to come.
Genetic use restriction technology (GURT), colloquially known as terminator technology, is the name given to methods for restricting the use of genetically modified plants by causing second generation seeds to be sterile. The technology was developed under a cooperative research and development agreement between the Agricultural Research Service of the USDA and Delta and Pine Land company in the 1990s, but it is not yet commercially available.
