Foreign Policy
Israel
*Senator Cardin is Pro-Israel. He was a co-sponsor for a resolution condemning Palestinian Terror attacks in Israel. On his senate website, it says that he knows that Israel is America's closest ally in the Middle East. He is in favor of more foreign aid and defense funding for Israel. Cardin is in favor of a two state solution with Israel and Palestine. In a press release, he condemned the terror attack in Israel that killed a U.S. Citizen in March 2016. In 2014, he was a co-sponsor of S.Res.517, which supported Israel's right to defend itself against terror in the middle east. He also signed a letter calling on the Obama administration to give more foreign aid to Israel.
Syrian Refugees
*Cardin supports accepting Syrian Refugees into the United States. In 2016, he signed a letter with 26 other Democratic Senators urging President Obama to accept 10,000 Syrian Refugees to live in the United States.
Iran Deal
*Cardin opposed the JCPOA made in 2015. He was one of two Jewish Senators who opposed the Nuclear Deal (The other being Chuck Schumer). He voted for the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 along with 97 of his Senate Colleagues. On his senate page, He says, "We must prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities."

*Cardin is the ranking Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
Surveillance
*While in the house in 2001, Cardin voted for the USA PATRIOT Act. He also voted for the USA Freedom Act in the Senate. Both of these bills eventually became laws.
