Police dispatchers in Pennsylvania

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, police dispatchers work in multiple jurisdictions and agencies, such as a county dispatcher or city/local dispatcher. Most dispatching is done on the county level; for instance, while in "X" county, if 911 is dialed, "X" county dispatching center is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). On the whole, the county dispatchers will dispatch the needed services, such as fire or police personnel, to the location in which they're needed.
If police are needed within a jurisdiction that does not have a full time department, or none at all, the calls and/or information is passed along to the Pennsylvania State Police.
