Point Dume Freedom Fighters

The Point Dume Freedom Fighters, also referred to as the Point Dume Liberation Army, are a small, independently organized group that operates in Point Dume, an area of land within the city of Malibu that has a population of over 3000. The PDFF began in 2007, when various acts of vandalism were attributed to them. Recently, violence has escalated due to the overwhelming number of people who come from LA and the valley, commonly referred to as "vals", who go to the Malibu beaches to escape the hot Sun. The PDFF, while having many of the same goals, is not the same as the group Malibu Locals Only, which is a group solely designed to keep Malibu beaches private, but the groups commonly join up to do certain things.

Goals

The goals of the PDFF are, as known: 1. To force the City of Malibu and the city council to give up all of it's territories in the area of Point Dume and have Point Dume become its own independently operated city and 2. To rid Point Dume of any people who are from outside of Malibu and restrict them from entering on private Malibu property.

Members

The members of the PDFF have ages varying from 13-60. Many members operate in their own groups under the common title PDFF. The number of members is believed to be around or near 50.

Incidents

Since the PDFF began in September 2007, numerous acts of vandalism were reported. This includes the throwing of eggs at parked cars, moving cars, the smashing of parked cars, damaging of homes by way of eggs and potatos, as well as the illegal use of fireworks. In June of 2008, two pounds of gunpowder were packed into a tennis ball and was set off inside of an Andy Gumb toilet. The portable-potty was completely destroyed.

Weapons

PDFF members have been known to use a various number of weapons. The most common items known to be used by the PDFF are eggs, toilet paper, fireworks, gunpowder, gasoline, and the most common and most effective, the potato cannon. The potato cannon has been used in a number of incidents as it is used to inflict damage physically as some potato cannons can go as fast as breaking the sound barrier

Influences
The PDFF has stated that it is influenced primarily by the Irish Republican Army and its tactics, but also by the works of anti-corporate activists.
